Mike Maduzia Biography
Mike Maduzia (Headache Spice) was born in a hospital not as many moons ago as “Hat Guy”. He grew up in Burbank. The Illinois Burbank, not the California one. Mike started playing trumpet at the age of 12 and turned into a decent drummer at the age of 16. He’s been playing professionally (and we use that term loosely) since 1987.
Before creating FreezeDried in the late 90s, Mike played with the Goodtimes, the E-Z Tones, the South Side Sound, the Uprights, and Chicago’s Milwaukee Avenue. Songs that Mike has written, but you’ll never hear are: “Bacon Burns” (only sung in his kitchen; contains explicit lyrics). “Don't Step On My Face”, and “Please Stop The Room”.
With FreezeDried, Mike plays the drums and anything else that makes a sound when you hit it (except his wife). Mike sings the vocals for all instrumentals. Mike has never had a nick-name and he’s not looking for one either.
Mike currently lives on “Da Nort Side”. His family status is “In Tact” … (married); and you’ll all be happy to know he has a full-time job.
Mike enjoys drinking beer; listening to music; playing softball; eating Mexican food and margaritas. Should you ask Mike for his top four Sleeper Movie Picks, he would tell you: “Army Of Darkness,” “The Frisco Kid,” “The Commitments,” and “Hollywood Knights”
But seriously folks, Mike happily resides in Arlington Heights, IL with his lovely wife Diana and daughter Mikah, which he wouldn't trade for all the money in the world. Freeze Drowie!.
